| As I'm going down to support Steve in the Outlaw, I thought I might enter the swim on the Saturday (7th August) - does anyone else want to play? Thinking of doing the 1500m, but there is also 500m and 3000m options. |

..anybody want to stop me signing up for the 3000?! |

I wandered up to Coniston recently and the local local distance swim club were abandoning swimming due to the dreaded blue-green algae that had appeared... seriously harming several dogs locally apparently.
Its not supposed to be quite so nasty for humans but there's little evidence on the effects on carthorses so I stayed well clear...
... take it its gone now then?

Which lakes were you hopping between then? Just come back from a week in the Lakes and N wales - went swimming in Ennerdale Lake on Monday, and did 2k - am entered for the 3k on Saturday and feeling a bit more confident now. Ennerdale is beautiful and clean and pretty well deserted - had a lovely swim across it with a friend kayaking about acting as my own personal safely boat.
In confirming the length of my swim I measured the length of the lake out of interest and its 3.8km.... sounds familiar...

We had a great time at the outlaw swim this saturday, I am pleased to report that the girls took victory with me and Gina S beating the boys!!! (Andy L and Terry S)
Kat also put in a great swim and we were all photographed by Steve M who seemed very relaxed considering what he was about to take on the next day!
I think we spotted most of the TNT outlaw's who were preparing for the big race (The majority were cramming food in!!!) Well done boy's - enjoy your success |

I'll post it up once I've worked out how to use Steve's flickr account! |
